The Londoners Prey on Discontent is an event arc in A New Home.

The Londoners Prey on Discontent[ | ]

This arc behaves somewhat differently than most event arcs, and some events can trigger multiple times. The events "A few are persuaded," "A restless group," and "An agitated crowd" are effectively the same event with different flavours. They can all trigger when you have high discontent, and they all have the same choices, which are discussed after the events.

The Londoners Prey on Discontent - A few are persuaded

A few are persuaded[ | ]

This event will trigger if you have about 33% to 50% discontent

A member of the Londoners is talking to a crowd. He's trying to scare as many as possible into joining the exodus to London, but his visions of doom ring false in the ears of people, who are content with the situation in our city.
The Londoners Prey on Discontent - A restless group

A restless group[ | ]

This event will trigger if you have about 50% to 66% discontent.

A crowd is listening to one of the Londoners, who's scaring people with visions of doom. He's trying to persuade them to flee to London. The discontented seem to take his words to heart, but others remain unconvinced.
The Londoners Prey on Discontent - An Agitated crowd3

An agitated crowd[ | ]

This event will trigger if you have more than 66% discontent.

A member of the Londoners is stirring up a restless crowd. He's scaring people into joining the exodus to London! Their discontent with the situation in our city makes his visions of doom all the more believable.

  • Chase the speaker away: The number of Londoners will rise slightly. Requires an active Guard Station

  • I will handle this my way: The number of Londoners will rise.
  • I let the Londoners talk, now listen to me: The number of Londoners will fall. This option is only available if you chose "Let him speak" on three occasions previously. Grants achievment "My turn to speak".
  • Disperse the crowd: Discontent will rise People may get hurt. Requires an active Guard Station or Faith Keepers

Revenge[ | ]

If you chose "Chase the speaker away" or "Ask a cleric to reassure people" during one of the main events, this event may trigger.

If you chose "Chase the speaker away," the event will have this flavour:

Sir! The guard you sent to chase the Londoners' speaker away... He's dead. They hanged him from the Generator. A piece of paper was found pinned to his lifeless body with "LIARS" written on it.

If you chose "Ask a cleric to reassure people" the event will have this flavour:

Sir! The priest you sent to challenge the Londoners' speaker... He's dead. They hanged him from the Generator. A piece of paper was found pinned to his lifeless body with "LIARS" written on it.
