Steel Composites
Icon Steel Composite

Steel Composites are a resource occurring only in The Last Autumn and Endless Mode (The Builders). They are manufactured in the Foundry at the cost of 25 Steel and 50 Coal per Steel Composite. This can be reduced to 20 Steel and 40 Coal with Innovative Process (Technology).

Uses[ | ]

Steel Composites are a resource required to construct the Generator in both The Last Autumn and The Builders Endless scenario. A total of 45 are needed to build the Generator.

As an optional step, 5 Steel Composites can be used to install fire suppression equipment in The Core. This permanently increases workplace safety by 1 at the site, and unlocks an extra option to resolve the scripted disaster that occurs.

If you stay behind to upgrade the Site 113 Generator, an additional 25 Steel Composites are needed to research all the upgrades.

These upgrades are applied instantly upon completion of the research, no additional Generator construction is required.

Notes[ | ]

  • The Generator requires 45 Steel Composites to be built, at a base cost of 1125 Steel and 2250 Coal. Innovative Process reduces this to only 900 Steel and 1800 Coal.
  • If you stay behind to upgrade the Generator, 25 extra Steel Composites are required for all the upgrades, at a base cost of 625 Steel and 1250 Coal. Innovative Process reduces this to only 500 Steel and 1000 Coal.
    • Combined, all stages and upgrades require 70 Steel Composites, at a base cost of 1750 Steel and 3500 Coal. Innovative Process reduces this to only 1400 Steel and 2800 Coal.
  • The Stockpile can hold up to 100 Steel Composites. There is no way to increase this amount.
  • Resource Depots are not required to store Steel or Coal in The Last Autumn or The Builders - manufacture of Steel Composites can be queued up to remove Steel and Coal from the stockpile without assigning any workers to the Foundry. Queued Steel Composites can be removed to regain Steel as required.
