Wood is one of the Resources in Frostpunk.
Sources[ | ]
In addition to Scouting and Outpost Depots, the following locations are direct sources of Wood.
Frozen Trees[ | ]
Frozen trees appear around the outline of your crater. A Sawmill will harvest all frozen trees within its radius until they are depleted, at which point the sawmill will need to be moved.
Wood Crates[ | ]
Wood crates are the early method of acquiring wood. The city begins with several piles wood crates with a quantity of 120 wood each. People can be assigned directly to the pile or to a nearby Gathering Post.
- The yield can be increased by Faster Gathering.
- You may assign up to 15 people to each pile of Wood Crates.
Wooden Ruins[ | ]
Wooden Ruins are featured in The Fall of Winterhome Scenario, which behave the same as wood crates.
Buildings[ | ]
Gathering Post[ | ]
The Gathering Post can gather wood from Wood Crates or Wooden Ruins.
Sawmill[ | ]
The Sawmill can gather wood from Frozen Trees.
Wall Drill[ | ]
The starting crater has cracks in the wall where a Wall Drill can be placed. This wall drill will harvest a near-infinite supply of wood from the wall.
Dock[ | ]
The Dock is only available in The Last Autumn. It can be used to ship in and create wood piles on the shore infinitely until sea traffic stopped. These wood piles then need to be gathered by assigning workers directly, with Gathering Post or with Reloading Station.
