Description[ | ]

Produce 15 Raw Food/day

Hunting has a long, ancient history and may well pre-date the rise of our species. It is the ancient practice of killing or trapping animals, or pursuing or tracking them with the intent of doing so, in order to obtain food and materials from them. Back before the New Ice Age, hunting wildlife or feral animals is most commonly done by humans for food, recreation, to remove predators that are dangerous to humans or domestic animals, or for trade. However, with the crushing cold weather it is impossible to perform agriculture without using Specialized Buildings to do so. To feed the City, we have to fall back on this ancient practice and commission our workers to go out into the frozen wastes and hunt and gather whatever wildlife they can find.

Fortunately for us, there are still several species of wild animals that, surprisingly enough, have survived or adapted to this new extremely cold and harsh world that we can hunt and feed our people with.

One notable problem is that most of our population has little to no experience in hunting or gathering and while these unexperienced hunters may very well bring only miserly scraps back with them at first, they will eventually gain more experience while hunting and learn how to get the most out of their hunt. To improve our hunters' chances of success, we can also provide them with better training, better equipment or even a flying vehicle of some kind to increase the amount of Raw Food they can obtain extensively.

Notes[ | ]

  • While hunting, the hunters do not suffer from heating effects, therefore generally speaking Hunter's Huts do not require heating. However, hunters are still affected by heating effects when walking to and from their huts, and if they are prevented from hunting because of storms.
