Sick Lords is an event arc in The Refugees that splits from Face the Lords (Arc). It begins when the second group of lords arrives at your city.

This event triggers when the second group of lords arrives in your city.

Captain, a large group of lords has just arrived. Most of them are seriously ill. They won't be able to work for many days and will overcrowd our medical facilities. What should we do?

You have the following options:

  • Send them away: The lords will set up camp outside the city. (unlocks Lords Camp location)
  • Let them in - our healthcare can handle it: You will have 2 days to heal people. Hope will fall.
  • Let them in - I'll improve our healthcare: You will have 2 days to open 4 new places of treatment. Discontent will rise.

If you chose to send them away during "The sick lords are here," this event will trigger next.

Captain, the lords who were sent away have set up camp outside our city. We don't know what they're up to.

You have the following options:

Sick but proud[ | ]

Sick Lords - Sick but proud

Alternatively, if you chose to let the lords in, this event will trigger next.

The sick lords are among us now, but our people try to stay as far away from them as possible. This has rubbed some lords the wrong way.

"They look at us with such disgust and contempt!" one of them complains between fits of coughing. "Our dignity is not diminished just because we're sick."

You have the following options:

This decision will also trigger Starving Lords (Arc).

Dangerous rumours[ | ]

Shortly after you let the lords in, this event will trigger.

Captain, some people are spreading wild stories about the sick lords. They say that they're contagious and that if we don't keep away from them, we'll soon all be sick as well. Everyone is on edge.

You have the following options:

  • Ignore the rumours: Discontent will rise slightly
  • Silence them: People may get hurt. Requires an active Guard Station or Faith Keepers

If you chose to ignore the rumours during "Dangerous rumours," this event will trigger next.

Captain, a few sick lords have been attacked and brutally beaten by unknown assailants. One of them had to undergo an amputation. The attackers accused the lords of spreading an incurable disease.
