Request for aid[edit | edit source]

The arc will begin with the lords requesting aid.

Captain, some of the lords we didn't let in have returned with a request.

You seized our Generator, you didn t let us in and you left us with nothing. Have some decency and give us enough food and wood to survive the next few days.

You have the following options:

  • Give them what they want: 100 Food Rations and 100 Wood will be handed out. Discontent will rise. You need 100 Food Rations and 100 Wood
  • Send them away: Discontent will fall slightly
  • Give them food: 100 Food Rations will be handed out. Discontent will rise slightly. You need 100 Food Rations

Troublemaker[edit | edit source]

Shortly thereafter this event will trigger. If you give the lords something, the trouble maker will respond like this:

Captain, one of our men, a known troublemaker, is loudly condemning your decision to help the lords.

It was a mistake! Give a man an inch and he'll take a mile. Soon the lords will be back for more, but this time they won t be asking nicely."

If not, he will respond like this:

Captain, one of our men, a known troublemaker, is loudly supporting your decision not to help the lords.

It was the right thing to do. Give a man an inch and he'll take a mile. But this isn't over. They'll be back, but this time they won t be asking nicely, mark my words."

Food thief[edit | edit source]

The lords will then attempt to steal food. If you do not have active Faith Keepers or a Guard Station, you'll trigger the following version:

Captain, some food has been stolen from the Cookhouse. Our people claim that the thief ran off towards the lords' camp.

The lords will never change. They'll always try to live at our expense. They're nothing but parasites!

You have the following options:

  • I'm sorry to hear that: Discontent will rise
  • We need faith keepers to protect us: You will have 3 days to establish the Faith Keepers. Only available if you do not have Faith Keepers and are on Faith.
  • We need the guards to protect us: You will have 3 days to build 2 Guard Stations. Only available if you do not have Guard Stations and are on Order.

If you do have Faith Keepers or a Guard station, you'll catch the thief.

Captain, our men have caught the man who tried to steal food from the Cookhouse. He came from the lords' camp. He says that they're starving there.

You have the following options:

  • Let him go: Discontent will rise
  • Make him repent: Public Penance will be used. Hope will rise slightly.
  • Send him to prison: Hope will rise slightly. Prison required
  • We need a place for such people: You will have 3 days to build a Prison.
  • We will make him repent: You will have 3 days to sign the Public Penance law.

A troublemaker incites the people[edit | edit source]

Shortly after the food theft, the troublemaker will appear again.

Captain, a troublemaker is talking to a crowd. He's arguing that the lords will only get more brazen if we don't do something.

Once a thief, always a thief. Mark my words the lords won't let us live in peace until we deal with them. We have to protect our city!

You have the following options:

  • I see: Discontent will rise

Lords raid the stockpiles[edit | edit source]

The lords will raid again.

Captain, the lords have raided our stockpiles! They're heading towards their camp with the stolen supplies.

You have the following options:

  • Let them be: We'll lose some supplies. Discontent will rise greatly.
  • Stop them: Requires an active Guard Station or Faith Keepers

We caught some lords[edit | edit source]

If you try to stop the lords from raiding, you'll catch some.

  • Let them go: These people will go back to their camp. Discontent will rise greatly.

People want revenge[edit | edit source]

Dealing with the Neighbours - People want revenge.png

Regardless of whether you catch lords or let them go, your people will want revenge.

Captain, a troublemaker is inciting our people against you. They want to take revenge on the lords for the recent theft.

"I warned you these vermin would be back for more. It's time we taught them a lesson. If our leader won't do anything, we'll take matters into our own hands and show them who s in charge here!"

People want weapons[edit | edit source]

They will then ask for weapons.

Captain, our people say that they feel threatened by the lords. They ask for resources to manufacture some makeshift weapons.

Maybe a show of force will be enough to keep them away, says a grizzled engineer. "If they don't get the message, we might have to repeat it more forcefully."

You have the following options:

  • Give them resources: 50 Wood and 50 Steel will be handed out. You need 50 Wood and 50 Steel
  • Send them away: Discontent will rise

Bloodshed[edit | edit source]

They will call for bloodshed.

Captain, the situation is getting out of control. An angry mob is forming, armed with makeshift weapons. In a few hours our people will set out to attack the lords camps.

It will end in a massacre unless we convince them by securing our city.

No regrets[edit | edit source]

If you do not secure your city in time, you'll close with this event.

All this talk about us slaughtering the lords is a load of rubbish. Such insinuations will be punished immediately. The lords' fate is not our concern.

What matters for us is that we survive thanks to our determination and hard work - the true source of our pride. We have nothing to apologise for.

They are out there[edit | edit source]

If you do secure your city, this event will close your playthrough.

We've separated ourselves from the lords and now they're gone. They set out towards the mountains to look for a place of their own. Will they return? No one knows for sure.

We didn't reach out to them when we had the chance, and now we don't know what to expect from them. We can only hope that when the time comes for our next encounter, we'll be prepared for every eventuality.
